My baby joy: You laugh and smile all the time. You even laugh when you cryn'! You try so hard to please us, which you always do...and you are learning constantly and your words and actions show us it is true. My favorites are hard to narrow, everything you do makes you my hero! One day you will make the best big brother, how lucky we'll me to have another!!! My sweet little boy, I love you in ways you will never understand, a love you make so easy, I am your #1 FAN. Dear, dear Simon, thank you for giving ME life! I can never repay you and I love you so . Thank you for the blessing of letting me watch you grow!
Some of Simon's latest funnies: He LOVES animals, so naturally he goes around the house saying dog-dog (dog) and woo-woo ( for the doggy noise); duck-duck for duckie; ho-seeeyyy ( for horsey) fissy ( fishy), growls for bears and other large animals.
He loves his "daddy"...he loves to watch him use his tools, and since he loves them so much, we bought Simon a tool set of his own. He takes them EVERYWHERE! And mimics what Spencer does- truly hilarious!
Also, the boy loves to laugh! He laughs at things that you aren't supposed to laugh at in public, like when a woman at Costco was standing in front of us and ( i can't say this delicately) farted...Simon started laughing! And that made all the people standing around us laugh...which is always the case when I am with Simon.
Simon takes a gym class, and it is safe to say, that he has NO fear! Despite my constant "bans" from EVERYTHING because I myself am the biggest scaredy cat ever! So, he learned how to do flips on the bar, and one day I put him in his pack n' play in the kitchen with a plethora of toys while I was making us breakfast. All of a sudden I hear him kind of grunt & giggle and I see him standing on one of his toys so that he is at waist level with the top of the pack & play. And just as I look over- he does his flip exactly as was taught to him in gym! Yep, right onto the wood floor!!! Our kitchen is so long that there is no way that I could have gotten to him in time, but I will tell you what: worst feeling ever! Until that is:
He fell out of the car! Who is the worst mother ever?! We were on our way to a birthday party, and we were loading the car with the presents, Simon and other things. There were 3 adults standing around him and each of us thought the other had him. Well, he was standing in between the seats in the back, and started walking backwards...another thing he learned in gym class! :0 It just so happens that the door was open and he fell right out of the car and hit his poor little head on the corner of the curb!!! Mother's worst nightmare! My sister, father and I were running and swearing and freaking out whilst the neighbors thought we were abusers! Ya...thank the Lord that he is seemingly fine- but after always being TOO cautious and finally not being such a stickler... I learned that you can NEVER be too cautious!
Anyway... I will end on one more cute thing, because the list really could go on forever: but Simon LOVES to dance! He has literally been "dancing" since he was weeks old. He LOVES music!!! If a sign of a beat is within his ears- the boy starts dancing! And- he is right on beat! Whether it be slow or fast, he hears the beat and can dance to it! And the dance moves he comes up with- HYSTERICAL! I will have to post a video sometime, but OH I LOVE HIM!

1. I am an obsessive GERM-A-PHOBIC! I have gotten a lot better, but the stories Spencer can tell you- Geez!
2. I am a Hippie! I have to recycle, and save energy and water...Whenever Spencer is brushing his teeth, he leaves the water running and I come in & turn it off!
3. I am OBSESSED with eating chocolate...Godiva, Sees's, chocolates from Europe...and if i don't have chocolates in my house when I am craving them, I will make a HUGE batch of Chocolate chip cookies & I can't share these delectable desserts either.
Surprising Facts:
1. I LOVE any kind of history... and I love to hear elderly people tell me about how life was when they were growing up... I love the idea of time capsules and anything that is from the past, I get so incredibly excited to think about where something came from, what it has seen and so forth. The same for visiting places all over the world (homes, beaches, museums, etc.)
2. Like my dear friend Ashley McBride; I love love love kids and babies. I started paid babysitting jobs when I was only 7 years old, and I have nannied for the same family now for 14 years!!! Kids are HEAVEN sent and you can see it in their eyes, they are absolutely amazing!

3. I like the idea of going far, far away and doing things like you never imagined...things that are not ordinary. When I was in high school, I registered myself in a strict boarding school in England for my senior year, and was weeks away from departure, when my friend talked me out of it, I still wish I would've gone. Also, I have always wanted to become a powerful business mogul, or lawyer or join Wall Street, and just get lost in the hustle and bustle of the fast-paced business world... however, my love of family over ruled this venture! :)
It's a little hard to sum yourself up like this, but here you are... and I tag Laurel Richardson, Jill Burk, Angel Scharff, Rachel Sharp, Heather Moore!!! :) He he he...

Too Com"plex" in the City: Article 2
I like to write...it is something that I have always enjoyed, among many other things. When I was a little I used to pretend I was a News Reporter, and I would write my own "stories" and then I would report to my "people" when I was sitting in the bath tub. I have always loved talk radio, and therefore think it is amazing that my little boy starts dancing furiously whenever he hears any sort of a beat, because all I listen to is talk radio or CNN...actually- it is probably his way of silent protest! :0
Anyway, I will get to pictures and all the great fun that we Butters have, but until I can find my camera...I will pretend that I am a columnist and that my column is called: Too Com"plex" in the city! So, read if you would like, or wait until the "Buttery"Photo Gallery is added:).
Now that I got that out there, I just want to take my mind and yours away from the dismal conditions that our nation is experiencing. Can you picture the time when we didn't live in a society of instant gratification? A time where children were not handed anything they wanted and a time when we had to learn how to complete our own tasks at hand only to receive satisfaction that we had worked hard on something...that we had achieved fulfillment in a project that even if our parents had helped us along the way, we were capable of doing something for ourselves ?
I look at the world we live in today, and how our thinking has shifted and how technologies and ideas have changed the very foundation of our work ethic. On one end of the spectrum I am completely thrilled to see, that we as a people, are able to evolve and to grow and allow our minds to expand. And on the other end, it completely frightens me, to see that we have cast out the basic fundamentals of thinking that could save our future of complete desolation and despair! Whoa- that may come across a little far fetched... but think about people to people interaction.
I am completely guilty of this, but we cannot LIVE without our cell phones. And, let's admit it...it is so tempting to forgo a friendly conversation for a little "text talk" about 98% of the time. And, there are now services available, where if you should decide to call a person but you don't actually want to talk with them, it automatically sends you straight to voicemail! Genius, yet quite ludicrous! It scares me that I have seen CHILDREN as young as age 6- yes 6- have thier very own cell phone and they are busy texting away! And the things they talk about! Geez, it's enough to make me blush! I am sickened that kids no longer have a childhood...it is rare that you even see groups of children out playing night games in the neighborhood like we used to do, and it is scary as much as it is fun, that people can see into your whole world ( i.e blogging :)) with a click of a button! These things are most definitely used for good, but also used for so much evil! There are adults bullying children, and much worse and horrifying things!
Why can't we incorporate the good wholesome traditions of a childhood as we knew it back into the future leaders of our country? I leave you with this question that plagues my mind often...until my next crazy and usually scatterbrained article... think simple and happy!

Silly Me...
Hello to all my technologically advanced peers, who seem to have a grip on this blogging thing! As those of you who know me well, I am probably a lone ranger in an adult world of make believe.
I choose to pretend that all these electronical devices don't exist, not because I don't think they serve a great purpose in the advancement of our generation, but because I like the world of complete simplicity.
Which truly is ironic, coming from such an astonishingly complex person as myself. In fact, I was going to call this post, "Too comPLEX in the city." Anyway, I will leave it at that as I try to re-build my page that existed of nothing but a couple of lucky pictures and a couple lucky posts.
